About us
We’re here to inspire a new way to travel
We’re a non-profit that encourages communities to harness the power of tourism to support a thriving, diverse economy without compromising their community or the earth, while empowering travelers to do their part.

Our Story
Mutual Travel was born from a simple idea: travel should give back. We believe tourism can be a force for good when it centers the people and places that make it possible.
That’s why we partner with rural communities to co-create group trips that reflect their identity, support their economy, and invite travelers into a one-of-a-kind experience they’ll never forget.
We care so deeply about our destination communities that our travel experiences don't collect profits for us, but instead, directs profits to them...while transforming travelers perspectives on meaningful travel.

Regenerative travel is at the heart of everything we do.
More than just minimizing harm, it's about creating lasting, positive impact — for the land, the culture, and the people who call it home.
Local Collaboration
We partner with communities to build intentional local-only itineraries based the community's identity and the assets they would like tourists to experience - all guided by the communities' regenerative tourism principles.
Community Impact
100% of profits go back to the community in the form of a grant. Every trip includes a community welcome event and a half-day volunteer event with a community-selected non-profit partner. The itineraries are also available on the website to travelers as templates.
Education & Empowerment
We help each community define what regenerative tourism means for them. We help turn those principles into action — educating travelers on how to visit responsibly through hands-on experiences and open conversations about tourism’s impact.
Our team
We’re travelers, organizers, and creative thinkers united by a shared vision: travel that gives more than it takes.
